Daily Garden Co is an independent educational resource focused on lake and shoreline ecosystems in Canada. It collects plain-language reading on water quality, riparian vegetation, and shoreline care for property owners, students, and anyone curious about the edge where land meets water.
What we publish
The site is organized as a small reading room rather than a directory of services. Each article explains one subject at a time and points to publicly available references so readers can go deeper at the original source. We focus on Canadian context: the lakes of the Canadian Shield, the Great Lakes basin, prairie waterbodies, and the many cottage and community lakes across the provinces.
How we approach accuracy
- We describe established concepts in general terms and avoid inventing figures.
- Where exact numbers would matter, we use neutral language and direct readers to primary sources.
- External links point to recognized government and scientific bodies.
- Each page shows when it was last updated.
What this site is not
Daily Garden Co does not sell products and does not provide engineering, legal, or regulatory advice. Shoreline work in Canada is regulated, and the correct authority for your situation is your local conservation authority, provincial ministry, or Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Always confirm requirements with them before acting.
